Class description:

Needle knitting, advanced beginner/intermediate.  Made a mistake several rows back?  Learn how to pull your knitting off the needles, rip out some rows, put the stitches back on so that the mistake is fixed.  Also, learn how to tink (knit backwards) to go back a bit and fix a mistake.

If there’s time, we can also learn to pick up a dropped stitch with a crochet hook and put it back.

Homework prior to class:

Cast on 20 stitches.

Knit in stockinette for around 2 inches, then, on a purl row, purl 5 stitches, knit 10, and purl the last 5.

Go back to stockinette for a few more rows.  Your goal is to have a noticeable mistake in the fabric for us to work on fixing.

Skills needed:

Basic knitting skills.

Supply list:

  • At least half a ball of worsted or heavier weight yarn that is neither mohair nor slippery
  • knitting needles
  • locking stitch marker or safety pin
  • crochet hook.
